A short history of me

A playful person on a serious planet

I am the second of 6 siblings, grew up in New England on the north shore of Massachusetts.  We lived in small towns where the center of town had a few official buildings, with roads radiating out along old cow paths through the woods.

After high school I entered Catholic Seminary.  After 2 years I left that and got a degree in math for secondary teaching, but instead of teaching I worked for 5 years I was a handyman at a mission in KY. Then as a youth minister at a parish outside Chicago.  I got married, had two children.  In my role at the church I became responsible to teach youth about their faith and realized I couldn't present things with integrity that I didn't believe myself.

With a family to take care of I went back to school at Northeastern and landed a career as an engineer.  Did that for 20 years.  After 20 years of marriage we divorced.  I saw my children graduate from college and decided I too needed a change.   Volunteered and subsequently worked as a mediator for another 10 years.  Now I am remarried to the woman of my dreams and we are retired.

With my songwriting I try to capture what life has shown me.  This website is not a commercial venture.  It's a way to share while I still can.
