This song is based upon a poem by Fawn Bell. I edited the words some to fit a rhyme scheme that worked for me. It's her poem still, but I've heard it in my way and now share that with you.

Lyrics

When light shines on the clothesline
The clothes pins hang on tight
Just like gravity entrains the moon
Their spring knows what is right.

[Chorus]
The threads of the line will fray in time
Rot will take the posts
The clothesline's days are numbered
Yet this beauty is pinned where it floats

[verse 2]
For now the clothespins are morning lit
Simple, subtle, by design
Peace in the world expressed just so
Yellow, blue, sublime

[chorus]

[break]
Look how they twist on the line they share,
pirouettes in a cosmic dance with the evening air
On a filament extraordinaire yet common at a glance

[verse 3]
Light rests on the clothes pins
the line and they are mute
do they know their carefree spinning
luminous and absolute?

[chorus]
